A major monograph presents the work of photographer done by Italo Zannier, intellectual figure prominently in the world of Photography for his long career as a scholar and critic. From 1952 to the 1976 was in fact among the most active and regarded photographers of postwar, with awards including international.
The catalog illustrates the activity of these years, especially as the memory of a historical period characterized by the Italian neo-realism of photography, which Zannier has been a protagonist, founding the Group Friulano and writing a "manifesto" of the same programmatic neorealism photo.
Zannier is committed to twenty years in a deep work of documentation that has gone, with surprising results in the pure aesthetics of research conducted with human and intense participation. The same feeling is also recognizable in the path alongside professional artists and architects as is evident from the large number of publications that make full credit to his research work.
The volume is divided into various sections specific:
- the neo-realist debut in Friuli (1952-1960), with particular reference to architecture spontaneous and sociological environment;
- professional activities in the fields of Architecture, in particular as a collaborator of Bruno Zevi, and Industry, as a photographer of several large companies and the documentation of some historical or Triennial in Milan Expo in Turin "Italy '61";
- an anthology of images related to the major Italian architects and designers of the 900 as Giancarlo De Carlo, Marcello D'Olivo, Marco Zanuso, Gino Valle;
- a selection of the great work illustrated by Zannier on Italy between 1967 and the 1976 on the Coast and Mountains.
